I believe in higher power something ancient and knowledgeable and if his name is "God" so be it. There are of course the atheist who are fine to but is there no possibility that perhaps the theory of evolution and God can go hand in hand. Is there no reason that science and the divine can coexist. People choose to separate them because one is visible and the other is not. I believe there is a link in all things that dwells within us and if it's name is "God" so be it. People are all ready to say that God is a high powerful being and then at the same time choose to coddle him like a child and spare is feelings by choosing the "right" religion. God is great but a belief in him doesn't make you a good person. I choose to live my life the way I want to. I think it is hard to explain a belief in God but for me it is a feeling and nothing more. It's nice to know that there is always someone on the phone even though he might have put the phone down and is now watching TV, and not knowing is the best part. I believe in God not because I was raised to or that it was forced down my throat, I simply believe because I find it comforting.

Lack thereof
I have tried a couple religions and neither have sparked my interest. People always speak of a feeling as if God is telling them it is the right choice. Sometimes I think people just want to fit in so badly that eventually their mind just creates a "divine" experience. I have tried the baptist church and it was full of nice people but at the end of the day it's not much different than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or the Catholic church. They all have at least one thing in common and that's a belief in God. Why do I need to pick a specific religion to go to heaven. Is God persecuting everyone who isn't a Lutheran or a Presbyterian? I find that awfully hard to believe that the figure I am suppose to derive my morals from is going to damn me to hell because I didn't join the right cliche. In short I do not ascribe to a specific religion because I find it unnecessary. Why do I need to be apart of YOUR religion in order to be a good person.
